The Oyo State Government hosted the Honourable Minister for Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, who was in Ibadan for the RAIN Summit. Representing Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, Mr. Bayo Akande warmly welcomed the minister and highlighted the government’s efforts on digital transformation, particularly the Seyi Makinde Innovation Hub in Ogbomoso, which trains youths in robotics, AI, and emerging technologies.
The summit showcased innovations shaping Ibadan’s tech landscape. Dr. Tijani commended the vision and innovation of Dr. Olusola Saheed Ayoola in driving RAIN to nurture the next generation of techpreneurs and tech stars. Guest Speaker Prof. Musa Aibinu delivered an insightful SWOT analysis of Nigeria’s hardware development, emphasizing opportunities for growth. The hackathon fostered creativity and empowered youth, further showcasing the dynamic talent within the State.

During his visit to Ibadan, the minister also interacted with the 3MTT Fellows and cohorts. The session, held at SQL Heritage Mall, Dugbe, allowed the fellows to share inspiring testimonials about the program. Dr. Tijani outlined the vision behind 3MTT, aimed at empowering 3 million globally competitive youths, while emphasizing Nigeria’s leadership in digital technology and its role as Africa’s tech hub. The session concluded with the minister awarding two fellows an acceleration program, further supporting their growth.
